AF TOURS TALENT UNLIMITED

NEW YORK, NY (November, 2007) Thanks to the multi-talented Hal Morris (aka humanity) AF received an invitation to visit NYC’S TALENT UNLIMITED HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTISTS, located at 300 East 68th Street between 3rd and 2nd Avenues.

We received a personal tour of the facility by Principal Denna Forman who allowed us exclusive access meet to both students and teachers during class periods. Talent Unlimited High School is housed in an amazing, multi-story historic Victorian building, complete will all the mod-coms of newer structures.

The school features studies in all the performing arts as well as all the required courses in math, english, social studies and sciences, but with a twist… Students are required to incorporate art within their standardized academic coursework: from group dramatizations with scenery of their studies on the Bill of Rights, to Shakespearean works, and even chemistry lab! (we can’t wait to see that one!)

Our tour ended with a visit to their AMAZING auditorium, jazzed up in part by the good folks at MTV, and a peek at their computer labs featuring rows and rows of both PC’s and new Mac computers for study use and video editing!

What I would not have done to be able to attend such a beautiful, forward thinking school when I was growing up! All the students and teachers were both happy, involved and quite serious about their studies. If you get a chance, check out their December 14th Holiday show later in the month. AF will be going and we recommend you do too. You’ll be glad you did!
