THE ARTISTS FORUM SALON 2019: WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT EVENT was held Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 7:15pm to 9:30pm at the JCC Harlem (318 West 118th Street, NYC 10026). This event was a special evening celebrating the work of women filmmakers and featured short films from The Artists Forum Festival of the Moving Image: 2018, and was held in recognition of The National Association of Women Artists (NAWA)’s 130th anniversary.
Selected films included: “Preserving Beauty” by Diana Guerra (Peru) and “Parker & Angel” by Ty Whittington (US). The screenings were followed by an interactive panel discussion with our two guest filmmakers along side our honored guest, Susan G. Hammond, Executive Director, NAWA, and moderated by author, speaker, media personality, and empowerment coach Abiola Abrams. The panel was followed by a networking session and refreshments. Special thanks to event partner JCC Harlem.
