INTERVIEW
Please describe your artistic themes
-Classic soul and vintage R&B vibes blended with playful strands of pop and funk.
-Feel good music exuding genuine southern charm and uplifting vibes.
Please describe your creative process
I get inspiration from a lot of places- the arts, living in the city just noticing people and life all around. I especially like collaborating with others.
What are your artistic goals? What do you need to achieve them?
My goal is to continue to create music that I like and to share that with the world and to connect with an audience of people that appreciate it. Beyond that, I hope to collaborate with more creatives whether that’s songwriters, producers, other artists or directors for videos.
What are your views on the industry?
The industry is always evolving and it can be really difficult to balance the artistic side of creating and the business side of marketing and promotion. I think it’s important to protect the joy of creating and to stay in tune with that. At the same time, I think it’s important to study up on the business part of being an artist so you can make good decisions in your career.
What advice would you give to emerging artists?
I think community is important and most of the opportunities and growth I’ve had has come from being in community with other artists where I share ideas and information.
