O ZHANG: I AM YOUR MIRROR

NEW YORK, NY (Wednesday, September 26, 2012) The Vilcek Foundation’s latest gallery installation is the solo work of Chinese born artist O Zhang, entitled I Am Your Mirror. It features photographs of blank billboards captured during her cross-country voyages throughout the United States. The photo’s illustrate of the emptiness and decay of a recession-ridden country once proliferated with bountiful images of the American dream.

The gallery walls as well as its floors are lined with O Zhang’s works, featuring weathered prints left out in the elements. In the center of the gallery, O Zhang has constructed a billboard of her own with a multi-layered papered image of one of her works.
