03: Clique Bait / Split End

DOUBLE FEATURE: In celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month (#AAPIHM), THE ARTISTS FORUM presents the online premieres of the award-winning short films, “Clique Bait” by Anna Mikami and “Split End” by Eddie Shieh. This presentation includes an exclusive interview with the filmmakers. (Total Runtime: 43:35)

ABOUT THE FILMS:

Clique Bait – “Clique Bait” is set in the international school community of Hong Kong, where a high school girl spreads a social media video sexualizing her childhood friend and classmate.

Split End – In “Split End,” a young, single woman bored with her social life caters a party for a beautiful couple and finds the charismatic boyfriend also looking for something new.

The two films discuss issues surrounding gender, race, class, sex, and toxic relationships between and within the sexes in today’s society.
